THE FLORIDA STATE SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Print PDF

Congratulations to RCSA Science Olympiad Team for the great result at the Florida State Science Olympiad.

Students from RCSA traveled to University of Central Florida last Saturday to participate in the statewide Science Olympiad. Going up against 54 other teams from all around Florida, the students competed in 23 different events such as Anatomy, Meteorology, Solar System, Elevated Bridge, Ornithology, Physical Science Lab, Write Staff, Ecology, etc.

Our students (Vladimir, Zack, Daniel, Shaheda, Steven) won 3 Gold medals  and one Bronze medal (Shaheda and Vladimir) at the competition.

Our school team placed seventh overall among 54 schools in Florida that were able to make it to the state level competition. This is the school’s second year attending the Science Olympiad.

The competition gives students the opportunity to enhance their scientific and mathematical skills while competing with other students from across the state. Events are designed to test students’ critical thinking and reasoning skills.
