Quincy Jones,  RCSA’s ( 6^th grade) own Chess champion has been playing since he was 4 years old.  In fact,  he won his first tournament at this same tender age!  This he accomplished after learning how to play only a month before.  Since then he has been in over 70 tournaments,  placing in the top 20 for all.

Quincy,  on November 14^th,  2009,  representing RCSA,  took 1^st place at the Annual Jacksonville Agricultural Fair.  He won all his matches to beat all competing schools.  Congratulations!  Quincy also met with a New York Chess Master in April 2010,  the game ended in a draw.  An incredible feat for such a young man!

All this success is no accident,  Quincy works very hard.  He practices playing Chess every day for 3 hours.  He studies some of the great Chess Grandmasters and their winning games.  He spends lots of time learning new openings and strategies.  Quincy hopes to become a Master before he graduates high school…………Best of Luck to you,  Quincy!
