RCSA Math Team

mathlogoCongratulations to the RCSA Math Team, Greater Than Not Equal To, for a strong showing at the annual Mathematics Field Day, finishing in 4th place out of 21 schools.

The event took place on Saturday November 21st at Julia E. Landon Middle School.    The competition involves a variety of calculations including multiplication, division, fractions, graphing, and even a calculator event.  Participants include 6th graders: Heather Wills, Sara Idris, and Norin Zhupa, 7th graders: Savennah Sanpedro, Shadeda Choudhury, and Admir Sehovic, and 8th graders: Alejandro Cordero and Anthony Franklin.

A special mention for individual performance goes out to Savennah Sanpedro who finished in 3rd place in the extremely difficult fractions event.  RCSA scored first place in the estimation event, which involved estimating how many rubber bands were in a jar.  Also, as a team, RCSA was the only school that got all the questions correct on the finale Super Quiz event!

A special thanks to Heather?s mother and grandmother for assisting in transportation.  Thank-you Coach Ford and Coach Dinler for your time and dedication to the team.   To all who competed-well-done!  Your hard work and perseverance definitely paid off!!
