STEM Teacher
River City Education Services, Inc. dba River City Science Academy has multiple openings available for the position of STEM Teacher with the following qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in any STEM field, including but not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Technology, or Education. Also requires two years of experience teaching middle or high school students in one or more STEM disciplines, including but not limited to any science field, mathematics, computer science, engineering, technology, or related STEM subjects. Stated experience must include coaching students for participation in STEM Olympiads and academic competitions. Requires a Florida Educator’s Certificate in Science areas, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology Education (Grades 5-9 or 6-12), Computer Science (K-12), or a related certification area OR an official statement of eligibility is required per state law. Must pass background check.
Job duties for the position include:
Instruct middle and high school students in grades 6-12 in one or more STEM disciplines, including but not limited to any science field, mathematics, computer science, engineering, technology education, and related STEM fields. Design and deliver interdisciplinary learning experiences that fulfill applicable state standards and are consistent with the school’s mission of providing a college preparatory secondary education focused on STEM. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs, interests, abilities, and learning styles, using ongoing assessment to provide differentiated instruction and support student achievement. Integrate technology into the learning environment through the use of computers, educational software, digital learning platforms, laboratory equipment, tablets, interactive displays, and other instructional technologies. Guide students through inquiry-based, project-based, interdisciplinary, and problem-centered learning activities designed to develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and STEM competencies. Expose students to real-world applications of STEM concepts through experimentation, scientific investigation, engineering challenges, design projects, research activities, data analysis, modeling, coding projects, and other hands-on learning experiences. Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies and innovative teaching practices to promote student engagement, achievement, and interest in STEM disciplines. Prepare, administer, and evaluate assessments, examinations, projects, presentations, and other assignments to measure student learning and progress. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, school policies, and administrative regulations. Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student academic progress, behavioral concerns, and educational planning. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement interdisciplinary STEM initiatives, curriculum enhancements, student enrichment opportunities, and technology-integrated instructional programs. Support and mentor students participating in STEM-related activities, Olympiads, competitions, exhibitions, research projects, clubs, academic teams, and other extracurricular programs at the regional, state, national, or international level.

Technology Education Teacher
River City Education Services, Inc. dba River City Science Academy has multiple openings available for the position of Technology Education Teacher with the following qualifications:
Requires U.S. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any field) or related field. Also requires two years of experience as a Teacher teaching middle or high school technology. Stated experience must include coaching Informatics, Robotics or Mathematics Olympiad teams. Requires a Florida Educator’s Certificate in Computer Science (Grades K-12) or an official statement of eligibility is required per state law. Must pass background check.
Job duties for the position include:
Instruct middle and high school students in technology education, including digital literacy, computer science and responsible technology use. Design interdisciplinary learning experiences that fulfill the state of Florida’s standards and are consistent with the school’s mission of providing a college preparatory secondary education focused on technology skills. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests, using flexible grouping based on on-going assessment to confer with students and provide differentiated instruction. Integrate technology into the learning environment by using computer labs, laptops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards. Encourage students to use technology as a tool for research, creativity, and problem-solving. Guide students as they explore the school’s problem-centered curriculum and develop an in-depth understanding of key concepts such as coding, digital citizenship, computational thinking and design processes embedded within each activity. Expose students to problem solving, communication, and reasoning activities through real-world applications. Use a variety of teaching methodologies as well as innovative instructional methods to encourage students to develop a positive attitude toward technology and computer science and facilitate the learning of each area. Promote the students’ academic potential and interest in computer science, robotics, through guided instructions, individual and teamwork, tactile and kinesthetic activities, data collection, class work, and homework activities. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student’s progress. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations. Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students behavioral and academic problems or to discuss students’ progress, and to determine students’ priorities and needs. Work with other teachers and staff to integrate technology into digital learning initiatives, subjects and projects. Support students in the development of their work for presentations in regional, statewide, national, and international competitions.
