Support Students Through Meaningful Volunteer Service
River City Science Academy welcomes parents, caregivers, family members, and community volunteers who would like to support school activities and student programs.
Volunteer opportunities may include classroom support, school events, family engagement activities, community outreach, and other campus needs.
All volunteers must complete the required Duval County Public Schools volunteer clearance process before participating on campus. Applications typically take 5–10 business days to process.
Ways to Get Involved
RCSA offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for families and community members who would like to support our students, schools, and programs. Opportunities may vary by campus and school needs throughout the year.
Classroom Support
Assist educators with approved classroom activities, learning materials, and student support.
School Events
Help with celebrations, family events, field activities, performances, and campus programs.
Family Engagement
Support parent workshops, engagement activities, outreach, and school-community events.
Community Service
Contribute to donation drives, service projects, fundraising activities, and local outreach initiatives.

Volunteer Clearance Requirements
All RCSA volunteers must complete the Duval County Public Schools volunteer application and required background screening before participating on campus.
Screening requirements vary depending on the volunteer role. Level I volunteer applications typically take 5–10 business days to process, while Level II volunteer/chaperone screening may take longer.
Complete the current DCPS volunteer application before volunteering and contact your RCSA campus if you have questions about available opportunities.

Volunteer placement is not guaranteed. Opportunities depend on campus needs, completed clearance requirements, school schedules, and staff availability. Volunteers must follow all RCSA and district safety, confidentiality, and campus procedures.
